Little Andrew on the Mend

One of our newly rescued children, Andrew, 4 years old, is asthmatic and malnourished had a bout of fever a few days ago, prompting Kalipay to have him checked by a physician. He was requested to be swabbed, thankfully the results came out Negative! Andrew is now feeling much better.

Access to health and medical services is something we at KALIPAY provide to all the children under our care. We have a resident nurse who tends to all minor injuries and illnesses, monitors their height and weight to curb malnourishment, distributes vitamins, and administers needed medication. In cases that the children are seriously ill, they are immediately taken to see a physician.

Our Home Parents are also trained to frequently check the temperatures of the children to ensure that everyone is feeling well. The kids also know that anytime they feel unwell or have any type of injury, they can always run to their Nanay or Tatay or the nurse. It is our goal in KALIPAY to provide our children a safe and loving home where they can trust their carers, the Home Parents, Home Managers, and staff to really take care of them.
