One of our incredible beneficiaries, Lila (an alias to protect her privacy), was recently chosen to represent the Philippines in the National Authority for Child Care 2024 Hosting Program. This prestigious initiative allowed her to travel to the United States for two weeks, an experience that opened doors to new possibilities and gave her the chance to shine on an international stage.
Born into circumstances that no child should endure, Lila joined the KALIPAY family years ago with a heart full of dreams but weighed down by her past. Through the collective efforts of our compassionate supporters, dedicated social workers, and tireless staff, Lila found a safe space to heal, grow, and rediscover her potential.
The Hosting Program wasn’t just a trip for Lila. It was a life-changing opportunity. During her time in the US, she participated in various cultural exchange activities, met peers from different parts of the world, and was able to be taken care of by a loving host family.
We cannot express how proud we are of Lila for representing not only KALIPAY but also countless children who deserve a chance to thrive. Her story is proof to what can be achieved when a child is given love, care, and the support to dream big.
