Last Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, KALIPAY heeded the call of our friends from the Philippine National Police 2nd NOPMFC (Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company) “Salandigan” to support their medical mission and outreach program in Brgy. San Juan, Binalbagan.
5 KALIPAY teens, accompanied by Ms. Jeezalyn Khey Fuentes, our Head of Educational Services, and with Home Parent, Edmundo Guilaran Jr., the KALIPAY contingent headed out to Binalbagan early in the morning, bringing kits containing face masks, anti-bacterial soaps, and alcohol to be distributed to 150 recipients. The teens had a great time handing out the kits and interacting with the organizers and beneficiaries. By the end of the activity, they were tired, but also deeply fulfilled with gladness at being able to help in their own little way.
The outreach activity may have been represented by only a few KALIPAY teens, but in actuality, it was a family affair. Most of the kids and Home Parents helped out in sorting the masks and soaps into kits, along with the bottles of alcohol.
It is a part of KALIPAY’s vision of instilling in the children, a sense of helpfulness and compassion to others, to prove that despite their unfortunate pasts they are still very much capable of charity.
Thank you Felix G. Yusay Foundation, Inc for inviting us to participate in this meaningful event!
