The main observance of Holy Thursday is the reenactment of the Last Supper, which was the final meal Jesus shared with his Disciples in Jerusalem.
As we are remembering the Last Supper this Holy Week, here in our Kalipay Home, our kids and staff share meals together as one family, gracing the food through asking the blessing of God and saying words of thanks for His blessings of food for our children’s nourishment.
Our meals for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and supper are not only food but also theyrepresent the innate rights of our children to health and nutrition.
As a foundation who carries the responsibility of feeding 117 children every single day, it has been a challenge to sustain the nutritional needs of our kids through food, especially with the increase of the prices of commodities.
To secure the daily food needs of our children amidst the challenges of inflation and financial constraints, our Kalipay team created an effort titled “Feed Our Kalipay Home” to provide three healthy meals a day to every child in Recovered Treasures through meal sponsorships of any individual, group, or organization who wish to help in feeding our 117 Kalipay children.
