First Holy Communion of the Kalipay Children

Today marks the First Holy Communion of the Kalipay children. Officiated by Rev. Fr. Julius Habana, 63 of the Kalipay children professed their faith as they received the body and blood of Christ in the host and wine for the first time.

The Home Staff and the Teachers worked together to prepare the children in the days leading up to the Communion, practicing and rehearsing. In school, their CLE (Christian Living Education) classes focused on the significance of the Eucharist to help the children really understand the importance of this sacrament. The children also had their Confession rites last Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022.

After the mass, it was really clear in the children’s faces the joy that they have felt after finally partaking in the Eucharist. They are looking forward to joining their Home Parents and Teachers in the coming liturgical services in the Communion rites.
