A Bright Future Within Sight for Kalipay Graduates

The recently concluded school year 2021-2022 has been stellar for KALIPAY! We are beamingGraduawith pride with the academic milestones of our graduates.

For Junior High School, the Kalipay Learning Center, which is under the UST REAP Curriculum (University of Sto. Tomas Re-entry Education Agenda for the Poor), has produced five graduates: Isaac Belano, Joebert Despi, Angel Celis, Gellaine Bidlan and Bernadette Barbasa. The five students were able to attend the in-person graduation rites in the UST Angelicum campus in Quezon City. Their trip was made possible through the generosity of Montse Dosta, Kalipay Spain Board Member and former volunteer. As a treat, they spent a day in SM By The Bay where they enjoyed the rides. The students were accompanied by their teacher, Ms. Mayette Mijares.

For Senior High, KALIPAY has four exemplary graduates. Jericho Mahumas, Angel Ramirez and Rex Servancia from Sum-ag National High School and Alyn Amelin from Ramon Torres National High School. All four grads finished with Honors!
And for college, siblings Jessica and Janiza Mahumas graduated from Carlos Hilado Memorial State College. Janiza in Fashion and Apparel, and former beneficiary Jessica graduated Cum Laude in BS Psychology.

It is one of KALIPAY’S core beliefs that no child should be denied education. To see them excel in school is proof that we are making a big difference in the lives of the children that we rescue and care for. Testament to the fact that despite their humble, and oftentimes painful past, a chance at a bright future is still within sight.

To our graduates, past and present, the KALIPAY family is proud of each and every one of you. May the younger children be inspired with how far you have come.
To our partners, sponsors and donors… this is your achievement as much as it is KALIPAY’S. Thank you for all the support!
