Dance is universal. Dance is healing. Dance can be a statement. This dance is the KALIPAY children’s testament of faith and resilience. That we can dance to the beat of the world-not against it, but through everything it throws at us. We are so happy to join this global dance phenomenon because of the song’s beautiful message of prayer and a deep longing for home. Let this be our New Year’s gift to every single person who has been a part of KALIPAY in a big way. May it bring a smile to your face and a sprint to your step as we face the new year.
Everyone who is familiar with the KALIPAY story knows that it is built on miracles. Miracles made possible through kindhearted souls and compassionate hearts reaching out to help us right when we needed it the most. Now, the past year has been, without a doubt, the most difficult we have ever faced. The pandemic has brought the world to a standstill-and our humble foundation, to its knees.
Yet here we are, at the cusp of a new year, ever faithful that in the end, everything will be okay. This sense of hope is fuelled by acts of love and kindness shown to us despite this challenging season. We have seen our KALIPAY home managers and carers, teachers, social workers, office staff and volunteers double their efforts to make the children under our care feel safe and loved.
Our donors and sponsors have once again shown their generosity to ensure that the kids are cared for and their basic needs are met. Even the children in our homes, Haven and Recovered Treasures have shown resilience and understanding far beyond their years- that we will tide over this difficult time, TOGETHER.
The goal of KALIPAY has, and always will be to bring joy to disadvantaged children. The pandemic may have ravaged the economy, but it has only polished the hearts of all the people working tirelessly to create a better life for the disadvantaged kids under our wing. For this, I am truly grateful.
